With Ditio as a supporting tool, Anlegg Øst Entreprenør has taken major steps towards a more data-driven and aligned everyday operation, both out in the field and in the office.

Anlegg Øst is a leading player that, by using Ditio, has achieved a range of economic and operational gains in daily operations. The contractor has gained better real-time oversight and control, and greater learning across projects. Ditio has given them the foundation to make more precise and confident decisions. This has not least led to increased pride and a culture of sharing.

How have they achieved all of this, simply by using Ditio? Let us rewind a little and look at the implementation from the very beginning.

Documented insight

Jøran Jørgensen is project manager at Anlegg Øst Entreprenør and has been part of the journey from the start. He says that Ditio has gradually become a natural part of everyday operations at all levels since they rolled out the solution across the entire company in January this year.

– Before, we had to rely heavily on gut feeling and verbal updates. Now we see progress in real time — images, checklists and production data. It gives us a completely different sense of security, he says.

He describes how site managers, machine operators and project managers now all share the same picture of reality, thanks to Ditio.

– It makes us better equipped to make the right decisions. We can see where we stand and make adjustments immediately — not after the project is finished.

Small changes, big results

In the construction industry, margins are tight, and it is often the small improvements that make the biggest difference.

– It can be as simple as spotting a pattern in the transport logs in Ditio Flow, or noticing that loading times vary between shifts. When we can see it, it becomes much easier to learn and improve, explains Jøran.

He emphasises that it is not about monitoring individuals, but about developing the team.

A system that delivers documentation, learning and value

One of the greatest benefits, according to Jørgensen, is how documentation in Ditio has contributed to building culture and enabling learning.

– We learn from what happens. When a project does something particularly well, we can share it with others. And when something goes wrong, we use it as a learning opportunity. That creates an honest and safe culture, he says.

He adds that data and reporting now happens continuously, not just after the fact.

– Before, we would maybe do a review after a project. Now it happens along the way, while we can still influence the outcome. That is incredibly valuable, says Jørgensen.

– When data is open and available, it doesn’t become finger-pointing. It becomes learning. We see where we can improve — together, the project manager continues.

Ditio makes documentation something to be proud of

Another effect Jørgensen had not anticipated is how much pride the documentation has created out in the field.

– We see that people have become better at taking photos, sharing experiences and showing off what they do. It has become a natural part of our culture. Many of those working in the field enjoy seeing their results on the platform — and that builds community, he emphasises.

The project manager says it is now common to see people commenting and reacting to photos from the projects.

– It might seem like a small thing, but it has actually strengthened our environment. It has made documentation more engaging — and that rubs off on everything else we do, he says.

A learning organisation

For Jøran, it is not just about efficiency — it is about building an organisation that learns.

– We want to be a company that is constantly developing. To achieve that, we have to be willing to look at the data, ask questions and share experiences. Ditio helps us do exactly that, in a simple and visual way.

He finishes with a smile:
