Ditio Wins First Public Procurement Deal with Spordrift AS
Ditio has signed an agreement with Spordrift AS, marking a significant milestone as the company’s first successful public procurement win. Since Spordrift is subject to public procurement regulations, the agreement is the result of a lengthy and rigorous formal process.
As an agile organization with a strong track record of rapid implementation — even within large enterprises — Ditio found this particular sales process to be a unique experience. It was the company’s first time participating in a public procurement process, navigating everything from pre-qualification applications and extensive documentation to detailed descriptions and established award criteria. Winning made the effort all the more rewarding, but there is little time to celebrate. The agreement is signed, and now it is time to deliver — and delivery is what Ditio does best.
New field of expertise
Ditio has steadily become a preferred partner among major contractors, particularly in large transportation projects. However, track maintenance is an area where the company has had limited presence until now.
While many of Ditio’s existing customers operate railway departments that actively use the Ditio Core platform, their work has primarily focused on renewal and expansion rather than ongoing railway maintenance. This is a natural consequence of the fact that Spordrift AS held a 100% market share in track maintenance — and had not been a Ditio customer until this agreement.
Track maintenance competed out
At Spordrift, Project Manager Anfinn Line is very pleased with the agreement:
“Going forward, the operation and maintenance contracts that are our core business will be competed out, while we have high ambitions in project activity. The new production system is a central piece in our work to become more cost-effective, and we have clear effect targets, including better planning, better production management, an easier workday for employees, and better data basis for pricing competitions. Ditio appears to be a very professionally competent and solution-oriented supplier and has a flexible arrangement for the establishment of the system that is very in line with what we have imagined.”
— Anfinn Line, Project Manager at Spordrift
“The expectations for the new production system are many and high. Not only should it solve several of the challenges production faces today, but also ensure that we have better conditions to compete in the competitions ahead. It will affect most production employees.”

Increased focus on product development
Ditio has invested heavily in product development in recent years. What was once a development department consisting of a single person has grown into a well-functioning organization of approximately 15 people. The company has been willing to take risks and prioritize product development over short-term profitability — and agreements like the one with Spordrift confirm that this strategy is paying off.
This is good news not just for Ditio, but for its entire customer base. Continued investment in product development means a stronger, more capable platform for everyone.
